The 2600-series cars are perhaps some of the most recognizable forms of transport in North America, and many still operate for the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) today. Rapido provided some 3D CAD Renders of these iconic cars. Images will be attached below. 
Between 1981 and 1987, the Budd Company built 600 of these 2600 Budd Series 'L' Cars for Chicago's CTA. Upon delivery, these cars operated on the then new O'Hare Airport extension, now known as the Blue Line.
Around the turn of the century, CTA shipped out the cars to Alstom for a rebuild. Over 450 continue to operate in service today! Some have been relegated to MOW services.
Now you can build your CTA 2600 Budd Series 'L' Cars just like the real thing: elevated! These bridges feature nickel silver rails, separate center walkways, third rails and those iconic heavy guard rails the CTA uses. And the best part is we'll have straight and curved sections that connect via with our special built-in pins and custom shorty rail joiners.
The curved tracks include either terminating or continuing end pieces for the heavy-duty guard rails.
These new elevated tracks are available as a kit or as a built-up 129' long straight section for those who just want to display a two-car 'L' on the mantel or bookcase. The kits already have the rails installed at the factory, saving you the hardest part!
You need two curved sections to make a 90-degree curve. Each curved or straight section comes with four rail joiners, but we highly recommend you order an extra bag or two of our rail joiners as many will be beamed to Venus while assembling the track. You cannot use other manufacturers' rail joiners with these tracks. There is not enough clearance.
